MEXICAN AZTECA HORSE REGISTRATION INFORMATION

The Asociacion Mexicana de Criadores de Caballos de Raza Azteca (AMCCRA) will provide Azteca horses born in the United States with the official Mexican Birth Certificate of the Azteca Horse if the horse meets their Azteca registration requirements. This Certificate does not approve an Azteca for breeding stock approval and entry into the AMCCRA Studbook. Azteca horses must be physically inspected by an AMCCRA Certified Azteca Inspector in order to gain entry into their Studbook. See the Inspections webpage for more information.

This page intends to provide you with information and basic instructions on how to have Mr. Sebastian Zarate (AMCCRA Certified Inspector) help provide your USA-bred Azteca with the AMCCRA Certificate of the Azteca Horse if you want Mexican papers but don't want or are not ready for a phenotype inspection at this time.

Is Your Horse Eligible for Registration with AMCCRA?

Your Azteca horse must be the result of one of the crosses shown in the Crossbreeding Chart.

Your Azteca's foundation parents must be properly registered Quarter Horse, Andalusian and/or Lusitano. Mexico does not accept any Paint, Appaloosa or Albino bloodlines or color in the Azteca horse.

Your Azteca must have proof of parentage and copies of sire and dam's registration papers must be submitted.

Instructions

1. Obtain Application for Registration by emailing or calling Sebastian @ (956) 650-0006..

2. Items to Gather and Send with Completed Application for Registration:

• Copy of any Stallion Breeder's Report and Sire and Dam's registration papers
• If registered with the International Andalusian/Lusitano Horse Association (IALHA) and already microchipped, submit a copy of the horse's IALHA registration papers showing Microchip #
• Colored photos of your horse standing with all four legs visible for both right and left body profiles and photos of front and back of horse.
• Video showing the horse in the same postures as for photos above. Additionally, show the horse at a walk and trot from the sides, going away and coming to camera. It is also important to get a close up of any brands and of the horse's whorl hair patterns (which you will also identify on the registration application). A whorl is a circular pattern of hair (usually flat) growing outward from a point. These whorls are usually on the front of the face between the eyes, and are often found on neck and chest.

• Microchip - (Note: If horse is already registered and microchipped with IALHA, do they still pay for this?)
