Celtic Invasion of Rome

The First EncounterCirca 387 BC

A Washington State resident’s forthcoming historical

novel, written in the style of Morgan Llywelyn,

portrays the ancient Celts—the founders of Europe.

Treachery between two families, one Celtic and the other Roman, led to the first battle of a prehistoric war. The war lasted for half a millennium and resulted in the domination of Europe by the Roman Empire.

Druids, bards, mercenaries, male and female warriors, slaves and freeborn enrich this novel based on historical fact and archaeological evidence.

The contrast between Celtic and Roman beliefs and lifestyles will challenge the readers’ concept of history.

Celtic Invasion of Rome substantiates the contributions of the ancient Celts to the development of European civilization. With their use of steel weapons, the iron plow and the invention of the iron-tire spoke-wheel, the Celts tamed the continent. To the extent that when the Apostle Paul wrote his epistle to the Galatians, he wrote to early Celtic Christians living in Turkey.

The book will immediately appeal to one out of every seven Americans[1] who are Irish, Scotch and Scotch-Irish.  Thousands more upon reading the book will discover that some Celtic blood flows in their veins.

Today the Celtic presence still exists… the ancient language is still spoken by more than two million people in Wales, Scotland, Ireland and Brittany. In places as diverse as Spain and Hungary, people still think of themselves as Celts.
